This is a structured process—but also a human one. My role is to guide you through each step clearly, professionally, and without judgment.

What is a DOT SAP?
A Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is a qualified provider who evaluates employees who have violated Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol regulations.

The SAP process includes an initial evaluation, recommendations for education or treatment, and a follow-up evaluation to determine eligibility for return-to-duty testing.

This process is required and regulated by the DOT.

The Process
Initial Evaluation
We begin with a comprehensive assessment to understand what occurred and what is needed moving forward.
Recommendations
Based on the evaluation, I provide clear recommendations for education, treatment, or next steps as required by DOT guidelines.
Follow-Up Evaluation
Once recommendations are completed, we meet again to assess progress and determine eligibility for return-to-duty testing.
Follow-Up Testing Plan
If appropriate, a follow-up testing plan is established in accordance with DOT requirements.

Format
SAP evaluations are conducted through secure telehealth for individuals
in Texas and Florida.

All services follow DOT regulations and documentation requirements.

The SAP process is not optional and must follow DOT guidelines.

As a SAP, my role is to provide an objective, professional evaluation and clear recommendations.
