Therapy Is A Practice
Who Does Praxis Work With?
The main focus of practice is with adults age 18 years of age and over. Our specialization is in providing therapy to healers (therapists, clergy, ministers, counselors, etc). Praxis reserves a limited amount of scheduling for adolescents.
What Areas Does Praxis Work With?
Our main area of focus is addiction in both the past and present and working with trauma. We utilize a trauma-informed frame work that screens for and understands the long-term impact of trauma and childhood adversity. We also work with mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, bi-polar, and others.
What Are The Models of Practice?
The main conceptualization of practice comes from a trauma-informed lens. This is an approach that understands we each have our own set of unique events and experiences that effect us on various levels. In addition, practices from CBT, ACT, Psychodynamic, Mindfulness, Systems Theory, CPT, Jungian, Existential, Humanistic, and others are utilized. Often an eclectic approach is utilized that matches the need presented.
Specific Area of Focus
Addiction, trauma, mood disorders, major life stressors - they are part of the human experience. Even those in the healing professions (counselors, coaches, therapists, clergy, ministers, etc) are human as well and need their own space of healing. Welcome to Praxis where care for the healers is held.
